I’ve been taking my stepmom to the VA Hospital every day to visit her husband, who’s doing extremely well, by the way. I enjoy going there just to be around so many veterans, knowing how much they have given to all of us. As I was driving away, I looked up and saw one of the many American flags that fly there, as it proudly waved, almost as if it knew that this was a very special place. I was so moved at the sight, I pulled over to take this photo. I just wanted to share that moment… and this beautiful picture.
On my FaceBook page I have posted a video of all the soldiers coming home and surprising their families it is soooo moving. I don’t know how to show it to you on your blog or I would. Talk about moving…it was humbling not only to see the soldiers but to know how much their families give up too. I have to salute them too.
They also had a new salute for we civilians to give to the soliders that we see to honor them. It basically starts with your hand on your heart and then opens as you draw it down to your waist open handed. It means thank you…hard to describe but means so much. My husband and I actually go up and thank vets when we see them.
