Scene of a crime

Remember when Robert Blake’s wife met her untimely demise behind Vitello’s Restaurant in Studio City and nobody knew whodunnit? Well, the restaurant is still going strong and has a lounge with live music. I had never been inside before but Denis found out that a group we had seen on PBS was performing last night and we went. They are an “a capella” group called M-Pact and they were amazing! It’s six guys with no instruments at all, just their voices, and you’d swear there was a live drummer and bass and a whole band playing with them. I’ve never seen anything like it in person. As a musician myself, I was mesmerized while they sang, wondering how they did it. The guy who did the drums with his voice even did a drum solo that seemed humanly impossible. Anyway, it was a great night and we parked right where the crime happened, on a side street around the corner. I wonder if they’ll ever find the shooter…

I think they found the shooter Jenny. He just got away with it….. Money can sweet talk the justice system.

Those people do have an awesome gift! I can’t believe you parked right at the crime scene!! Maybe the real shooter will end up stealing some paraphernalia or something and start serving some time??? oops!! did I say that??

If you know me Jenny, I did my search on M-pact. Ive never seen anything like it before other than human beat box, back in the day. It seems kinda like it, but what I found was a clip from last year around this time at the Vitello’s Restaurant in Studio City. I can see why you find it amazing…
I find it amazing myself πŸ™‚
Jenny, your rubber chicken impersonation in one of your videos was really good (funny too…lol…)…But seriously, it makes me wonder if you could do something like what they do. You do have good rhythm to be able to play the drums as good as you play…

Jenny, did you hear them sing that song I posted with the video link in my post. If so, would you happen to know the name of the song? I love that song. Never hard it before until tonight. I was wondering if I could find it in MP3, but I need the name of it…

I’m pretty sure it’s called Change in My Life. They didn’t do it last night but it’s a beautiful song.

Thank you, Jenny. I agree it is a beauiful song. The song really grew on me quickly. It usually happens when introduced to something new. I like all types of music. I didnt realize I liked Christian music until someone threw some names at me oneday and yep I loved it. Christian music is something I can relax to and just chill out. This song affects me almost the same πŸ™‚
Thats why I wanted it on MP3…

          Take care,
          Rhonda

    • Jenny says:

Sorry you couldn’t find a skirt. I will take a picture in mine – right now it’s too cold to wear it. It’s almost August and I wore a hoodie today!

      • Rhonda says:

Yeah Jenny, fall is not too far away and I cant wait. I’m tired of all this heat…
Time to break out the sweatsuits, sweaters and hoodies. I actually need to do that soon πŸ™‚

        Take care,
        Rhonda

Wow, Jenny, that’s weird!!! And yes, I do remember when that happened.

Another group to check out is Straight No Chaser. They are like M-Pact, but there are about 12 or so guys. They are awesome!!!!!! They have several songs on youtube, and albums, also. No instruments, just a capella. I have some of their cds.

    Take care,
    Becky
