I had a nightmare last night that still has me shaken. I was lying on my back, helpless, and someone was pressing on my chest with immense force to where I couldn’t breathe. The pressure was so intense it had to be more than just someone’s hands but I couldn’t figure out what it was. And I couldn’t move. I started screaming and in my half-awake state I realized I was lying on my back and I thought someone was in the room pushing down on me. Not sure if I was awake or asleep, I screamed even louder as Denis was trying to wake me up. Still feeling the pressure on my chest, I then thought I was having a heart attack (they always say you feel pressure on your chest). “It’s just a dream, it’s just a dream,” Denis kept saying as he held my hand. In a cold sweat, I still felt paralyzed and could barely catch my breath. I finally woke up but I couldn’t get it out of my head and was afraid to go back to sleep in case it came back so I stayed up. I’m grateful Denis was there.
I found this Jenny and wanted to share it before I had to leave for work. I know the tennis ball will help and its a good idea, but youve got to try and find a more comfortable way to sleep. I thought maybe a body pillow would keep you from rolling over on your back during sleep. I dont know. Just a thought…
Maybe this will help give you a more comfortable idea…

Is your sleep position a nightmare?
Jenny,
I’ve had horrible nightmares too that keep me up for the rest of the night. It normally happens when I’m on any type of pain killers like vicaden, or anything with Ibuprofen. I broke a rib after a car accident and I was on vicaden and was always afraid to go to sleep. Me and Mike also live on three acres of woods with no nearby neighbors!!! I hope you get some rest, losing sleep can make it worse.
Sue
Perfect time to be sharing these. Mostly for you Jenny but I think everyone will like them as well. Enjoy!…

Grandma Lee Performs on the Jenny Jones Jones Show-(I had to add it. So funny)
Did you eat ice cream before going to bed??
No. I usually have cereal before bed.
Jenny, did you happen to have sugar with the cereal? even a banana? because it is high in sugar and I just read sugar is a food that causes nightmares, so it is true foods do cause nightmares
I usually have my own granola at night and it’s not very sweet. I’ve had nightmares before – it’s just this one was one of the worst. I admit I’m a little scared to sleep tonight so I’ll try to read something fun first.
Aww Jenny, youve got to try and sleep. Lack of sleep is something else that can cause nightmares. You dont want to make matters worse 🙁
Here is a link maybe you can figure out what’s best for you to do so you can get rest and sleep. I hope this helps you calm down from last night. (2 page article)…

What to Avoid for Sweeter Dreams
Aww Jenny, I feel bad for you. You about had me in tears again, but not so this time. It is frightening, but there is a disorder that causes a person to experience this type of behavior while sleeping…
Here’s somethings I just read that I think you should read and understand, so you wont have a fear of falling asleep. I also added a little quote from the article…
“A Sleep Paralysis is possibly a hereditary disorder in which one experiences very frightening seconds or minutes of total body paralysis with little respiration and eye movements”

Possible Causes
Oh Jenny, I’m so sorry!!!! That had to have been horrible! I sure hope you have a better night tonight!!
Maybe it was something you ate for dinner? My dad always said that certain foods bothered him like that. (Chili was an example for him!)
Big hugs,
Becky
Ive heard of that happening also Becky. I believe that certain foods causes things to react with us in different way including sleep time…
