One thing we’ve all learned about stray animals, feed them and they will not leave!! 🙂 Me, Mike and our neighbors feed stray cats and it drives our huskies crazy!! 🙂 beautiful bird!! love the colors!
Aw, he came back and now you’re feeding him. He might just make your beautiful yard his home. Hey! he eats insects, so if he sticks around he could have a job eating creepy crawly things out of your flower garden. To bad he don’t eat squirrel 😆 I did a little googling myself last night and found out that the population is declining. That could be why we don’t see these birds roaming around like you have… You got a real close shot and the colors are so detailed 🙂
We gave him some nuts & seeds but he also ate some foliage. Antonia is bringing some of her bird food tomorrow. I hope he stays around – he’s beautiful!
My father raises Chinese ring necked pheasants. He gets them when they are a day old, around the same date every Spring. I can hear their call (in my head), morning, noon, and night. He always had some black pheasants and rarely golden pheasants (at least one couple among the 1,000 chicks that arrived), in the mix. I’m no expert on pheasants (I don’t like to be around any bird that size), but he should stay around as long as he finds food and some shelter. Too bad you don’t have an old Christmas tree to put out for him! Every year, many Christmas trees are donated and my father uses them to ‘donate’ to the pheasants HAHA! The trees are excellent shelter for the birds. I think it’s hilarious to watch them run when they are standing straight up. It looks to me like they are SERIOUSLY late to something VERY important! HAHA!
