Here’s a rendering of the new playground coming to my hometown of London, Ontario. That’s all rubber safety surfacing and there are so many fun things to do I can’t even list them all. I wanted it to be colorful (if you’ve seen my kitchen and all those spatulas, you know I love color!) and I think the blue, yellow, and red look fantastic.
The work starts next month and the grand opening is planned for June 18th. There is a post on the city website where comments by residents are welcomed. Here’s a link:

Thank you Jenny, for giving back to your hometown of London Ontario. This gesture will be enjoyed by so many kids over the years. Please know, that those of us born and raised in this great city are very proud of your accomplishments.

Could you tell me what is happening with the old playground equipment? If it is still in good shape, there are several schools in the area that could use it.

I checked with the city and was told that unfortunately, the old play equipment does not meet current CSA standards anymore so it cannot be relocated. It will be recycled and parts will be used on other City playgrounds.

I youtube’d Phyllis Diller (one of my mentors) and watched you chat w/ her. I then got caught up on your life. Phyllis Diller’s “religion” was kindness (her words). She would be so proud of whom you’ve become, being a grass roots philanthropist.

I am so impressed with your path in life. Phyllis would be thrilled. She played in 102 symphonies, wrote, painted, and most of all, taught by example. Thank you for doing the same.

I’ve always known you were caring and I’m glad nothing holds you back now to let other know the real you. I could tell your character right away just by how you communicated with guests from your show and then being in your audience just showed me I was right about you as a person. I’ve never seen you as a celebrity, never ?
Actually, the reported incidences of accidents is up do to parents not supervising their kids at these new playgrounds (NPR article 2016). Overcoming reasonable fear is good, but being stupid isn’t. Parents need to encourage creativity, risk taking, and having fun, but they need to be, well, parents.
