Jeff Conaway

Jeff Conaway has died.Ā  He was terrific as one of the stars of Taxi, a TV series that ran from 1978-1981, and we loved him in the musical Grease. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy when he appeared on my talk show in the early 90s.Ā  I extend my condolences to his family and Iā€™m sharing this video in his memory.

I was a fan of his work, more recently shows like Babylon 5. While I don’t usually follow reality shows, I know the suffering he had endured. I’m currently addicted to opiates/pain killers.

It’s not an easy existance by any means but just like Jeff despite how I try I can’t escape them. I constantly worry that if I were to get seriously ill I might miss the symptoms due to these meds. For instance my left side went numb a week ago.. It’s not painful (I don’t think). Is it the neuro disorder I have that causes me to take pain meds in the first place or could it be something serious that could be fatal ? Of course I’m uninsured so it doesn’t matter..

I digress enough about me I just meant to say I know where he was coming from and I felt a real connection to him and his struggle. I feel worse because I prayed for several days before bed when I heard he was sick but became distracted more recently, I know it didn’t have anything to do with it but in a small way I feel like I didn’t keep a word.

Hopefully jeff is in a better place.

AJ, I hope you’ll never give up and keep trying to win the battle you’re facing. It’s clearly difficult but as long as you try, there is hope. I will pray for you.

God Bless You AJ, and I hope you find your way out of this addiction. Wouldn’t it be nice to see life clearly?? Being uninsured never helps anyone. I’m so sorry that you’re going through this horrible time, but really don’t give up!! You definately have friends who care!!! šŸ™‚

      love,

One more thing AJ as I am reading your post again.
No, it had nothing to do with you being distracted by your own life, but I’m sure that Jeff is hearing your prayers for him now as he is with GOD. And I bet he feels alot of love that he couldn’t feel for years with the drugs blocking his real feelings.. šŸ™ So I agree with you, I hope Jeff is in a better place. But you still have alot of living to do, so let go and let GOD!!

I hope I’m not depressing you or anything, I just care alot about people.

AJ, it was touchy for me to read what you said, so thank you for speaking out so openly. I wish more people in your situation was willing as you seem to be. I think it’s a good things for what you are facing in your life to speak out and express yourself. Seeing an issue in someone’s life is the first step…

Jenny is right. As long as you try you will come out on top. It may not be easy for you, but things do get better and people can win a battle as long as they try to change things in there life. Good luck in what you chose to do next in trying to get better. I will be praying for you too…

Oh wow, how sad. He was so young šŸ™
I watched him on Taxi and he was my favorite on the movie Grease. I never got to see him play Danny on Broadway…
My prayers are with his family and friends…
    R.I.P Jeff Conway…
