My stepmom’s husband’s daughter, Alex, came to town yesterday and had never been to Beverly Hills. She had always heard about Spago and it was her dream to go there some day. So we went. We had lunch in the patio and it was everything a place like Spago should be. Valet parking, gracious service, and fantastic food. She had the lobster club and I had Wolfgang’s famous schnitzel. We shared a dessert that looked like an art display on a plate – something with a sheet of chocolate, cherries, pistachios, and sorbet. It was too beautiful to eat but that didn’t stop us. After lunch, we went down Rodeo Drive for the full Beverly Hills experience. There was even an armored truck in front of Van Cleef & Arpels. Oh, and back at the house we had a 5.4 magnitude earthquake so she had the full SoCal experience.
Spago looks like a really nice, relaxing place. Dessert sounds really good, but what exactly is…Wolfgang’s famous schnitzel? Never heard of it…
Jenny, I love your personality and the type of person you are. You actually pulled me away from watching Oprah. Not to down Oprah, because she’s one of the best as well. It’s just the way you hosted. Put it like this, you had conversations with guests when most host from other shows seem to just interview guests. There’s the difference. I loved the way you hosted. If guests tried to lie about something, you would always say…”That’s not what you told our producers” I loved that…
I can see why you miss Chicago, Jenny. Ive been to Chicago 3 times and want to go back again just to site see. I saw your show live 4 times. I do miss it, but things dont last forever. As Ive told you before Jenny, as long as youre happy and enjoying your life as it is, that’s all that matters…

That sounds like fun…do you get tired of doing those things? I am with the lady that asked the question below, do you like living in CA? Do you have any TV shows or appearances lined up in the future? You are one pf the celebrities that I think it would be fun to have for a friend….I used to think that way of Oprah….but not anymore. You seem so down to earth…I like that.
Thanks for the kind words. My EP (executive producer) always used to say, “You’re so normal.” I guess I am. As for dining out, I don’t get tired of eating good food although I don’t like getting dressed up much. Most of my favorite eating spots are hole-in-the-wall places with good food. Plastic trays don’t bother me; bad food does.
I have no plans to go back on T.V.. I feel like that was an unexpected gift (my talk show) and a blessing beyond words, but now I’m back to my real life and enjoying it very much.
Kathy, I think you see Jenny as I do, because she pulled me away from Oprah as well. I still like Oprah and the type of person she is. Not much difference in personalities with her and Jenny, but I have to give Jenny the upper hand. I dont know if Oprah has or would open her site up to fans like Jenny has…

If you had to commute between two cities, L.A. and Chicago would be it! L.A. has the weather but it’s so spread out. Chicago has the changing seasons and everything is downtown. L.A. has great hiking canyons, Chicago has amazing parks and bike paths. L.A. has healthier restaurants, Chicago has Polish food! Don’t make me choose!! I LOVE them both. (but right now, I’m missing Chicago…)
Ya, sounds like the best of both worlds! So, I know you lived in Chicago because of your show, what brought you to reside in LA?
I was living in L.A. when I got my show and relocated to Chicago just for the show. California has been my home for almost 40 years and during my 12 years in Chicago, I sill commuted back to L.A. during haitus and other long breaks. That was when I had the best of both worlds and loved it.
