Last night, Denis and I had a date night and went to see “Date Night” at the Arclight Cinema. This is where you pay a little more (but not with our senior discounts!) and you get to pick the seats you want off a seating chart. They also have more upscale snacks like their own caramel corn and high quality chocolates. We didn’t get any snacks or popcorn but I brought my own red vines, but only two. Then a real person comes out in front of the screen, welcomes everyone, gives us the rules, like no cell phones or texting, etc. The movie was fun and I’d give it a 7 out of 10. I love watching Steve Carrell. We didn’t snack too much at the movie so we came home and finished off the pie.
My fiancee taught me to put a dab of mustard on my popcorn in the movie theatre. This did two things…(1) I had to really slow down because attempting to squeeze a little dollup of mustard out of those little mustard packets in the dark is not easy to do…and (2) I only ate a small portion of the popcorn because it’s a lot of work putting dabs of mustard on individual popcorn and I got tired after a while…besides I didn’t want to miss the movie from concentrating so much on applying the mustard to the popcorn…and somehow the mustard after-taste soon quenched my hunger so that I wasn’t hungry anymore. Who knew?
Red Vines/twizzlers are somewhat the samthing. Different brand. I eat them also…
Actually, they are not quite the same. Twizzlers are not fat free and have a long list of (questionable) ingredients. Red vines have 3 ingredients. I know it’s not health food but for a splurge, Red Vines seem like a better choice.
Whoops, my bad. You know your stuff Jenny. Twizzlers do seem a bit sweeter. I never really compared the ingredients. Thought they were somewhat the same. I guess Ive learned a lesson on red vines and twizzlers…lol… What do you think about Raisinets? A good or not so good snack for splurging? They are fat free also. I like to have those with popcorn and by the way, the way you made poporn in your video is really a cool idea…
Nothing covered in chocolate can be fat free, including Raisinets, but you could do a lot worse. Raisins are good for you and so is chocolate in moderation, just don’t eat too many.
red vines???
Yeah, red vines. Who goes to a movie without red vines? But I don’t buy the package there or I might eat it all. I just bring two from home. (they ARE fat free!)
