I thought he was gone forever because I did not see him for the last two days. But I just went out again to place some bird food and I saw that beautiful tail going under some bushes, and then he came right out into the open as if to say, “Did you miss me?” Yes, I did. Β I was sad and almost gave up hope, fearing the worst, looking for remnant feathers. But Baron Von Jonesenheimer is back!
I went out for lunch yesterday with two formers staffers from my talk show, Karen and Frances, whom I had not seen for eight years. We went to the Cheesecake Factory in Beverly Hills and sat outside but there was only one problem. Β It was too hot! (don’t hate ;)) We caught up on old times and new things and I found out how many of my old staff are now working for Oprah. Hmmm….
OK this Mr Von Jones in brawn or whatever his name is…has me stumped. ” That ” Bird is not in his proper region and shouldn’t even be in the WEST or California. I have seen Lot’s of those things in Ontario wandering around but this peeks my interest. The clue at Wiki gives it away…………> read on…
;[2] it has been introduced for that purpose to many regions, and is also common on game farms where it is commercially bred. Ring-necked Pheasants in particular are commonly bred and were introduced to many parts of the world; the game farm stock, though no distinct breeds have been developed yet, can be considered semi-domesticated.
>…… the semi domesticated part makes a lot of sense if you can be that close to him. Most up here wouldn’t allow you within 100 yd or they vamoosh….gone. This bird might be from a game farm used to eat pests around the game farm and keep the ground tidy. He has likely wandered off getting outside and open fence and hitting the open road. ( I am outta here ) Now if you can feed him Jenny and he watched and waits, then you have yourself a pet who likely will be staying for a while. That thing seems very ” tame ” or as Wiki says,,,,semi-domesticated.
As far as Oprah goes and hiring former staff that should be taken as sign of good leadership. If they can go and step right into Harpo and carry on they have been trained properly to work in all high tension portfolio’s under pressure. I doubt she would ever recognize you at any point during the past years Jenny since you were ” the competition “.
The thing that bugs me the most over all of this….The View . Wow that is low down to be even brought into the conversation with some of those freaks. Very smart move to side step that stage and be thrown to the five Wolves.
But here is the stage anyhow, so as not to feel you missed anything.

I had to post this before signing off to let you know this could be why he’s not eating the egg. It’s still winter…
Take a look…
Diet
Ring-necked Pheasants are omnivores with diet varying by season. In winter, they eat mostly seeds, grains, roots, and berries, while in the summer they take advantage of insects, fresh green shoots, spiders, earthworms, and snails. Breeding hens and young chicks eat a greater proportion of animal matter than the rest of the population. While laying eggs, females eat large quantities of high-calcium snail shells.
Baron Von Jonesenstein????? that is too good. Who came up with that? Touche!
It’s Baron Von JonesenHEIMER and he’s back today, but he wouldn’t eat a hard-boiled egg. I read that they like eggs and I did chop it up, but he ate some bird-grains we bought.
Aw Jenny, I think you have yourself a yard pet π
Hey, try giving him redworms from a bait and tackle. I bet he would love those π
Maybe he was not impressed when the dinner looked up and said “mama. I was your first-born!”
I thought about this post today and wanted to come back to it and ask you Jenny, how do you feel about Oprah and your old staffers?
AND how many of them work for Oprah?
I’m just curious of your thoughts π
I think there are at least 5 or 6 of my former staffers there and it strikes me that I wasn’t good enough to even be acknowledged but my staff is good enough to take their skills to Harpo. But at the same time, I’m very happy they are working because a lot of jobs were lost when my show went off the air.
Thanks for the reply Jenny π
I was just wondering how you felt because I’m sure it got to you hearing this about your staff. I can see why it struck you so oddly…
Jenny, you have every right to feel the way you do about Oprah but just remember it’s not you, it’s just the way Oprah has turned out to be. Money and fame can cause people to act out so different and it’s a shame Oprah has turned out to be a negative person with her fame and fortune. It happens…
I think with who you are has made me see the good in you and the bad in Oprah in past years and I have to say you out weighed her by a long shot. You are just so down to earth π
You’re too good to be a snob and think you are better than the next person. I LOVE the fact you are nothing like what Oprah is…
Take care,
Rhonda
Glad he is back so you can enjoy his company awhile longer…he is beautiful.
How cool that you were able to meet with your friends. Interesting that they are working for Oprah…the others I mean…hmmmm….what are they saying about you?? LOL
Jenny do people come up to you while you are eating? If I saw you I am afraid if I saw you I would think you were my friend and go up and hug you!!
K
Hardly anybody notices me but when they do, it’s always a hug. I love that!
That is what it is all about…what a great following you have, you should be proud!!
K
Aw Jenny, I knew he would come back. You’ve already started feeding him and he will always be around as long as he stays away from the other animals out there. He might seem smarter than you think. He’s probably got a nice little spot he rest at some where in your yard. I’ve noticed you have a fence up and as long as he stays on the safer side of the fence, he’s safe π
Oh and Jenny all I can say about Oprah using your staffers is that it’s pretty low. Nothing against you nor your old staff of course. I’m sure they are great people but Oprah is not that great anymore. I use to think Oprah was awesome but she has changed alot and I think money has alot to do with making her who she is today and I don’t like that in a person…
I could go on and on but I think I need to stop here. I don’t want to offend anyone, especially any Oprah fans…
I’m only stopping out of respect for you and your website, Jenny π
Take care,
Rhonda
YAY….I am glad Baron is back again!!!! …and that nothing bad happened to him. I bet his belly was just full form all the good food you gave him.
And….no hate here….many a little envy….hahahaha I am in COLD MN with tons of snow. LOL Glad you had a good time with old friends though. =)
Hey Heather, I feel bad for you. It’s just a little windy and chilly temps here in GA and here you are with snow…Burrr!
No hate for me either, Jenny π
